Lenacapavir: a new treatment of resistant HIV-1 infections
On December 22, 2022, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved lenacapavir as treatment option for HIV-1 patients who are unable to be fully virologically suppressed due to resistance, intolerance, or safety issues. Lenacapavir is given alongside two other fully active agents in the treatment of HIV if at least one agent has a high barrier to resistance.
